Logic Pro X Midi Environment. Recording tracks.

Hi I’m new to Logic ProX so still learning the beast. I been using the “midi environment” to connect my hardware and trying out multi instrument playing etc.

It’s all working great until I try and record midi down in a instrument track.

If I arm a track and play I can hear audio but if I hit PLAY & RECORD. No midi is getting laid down in my Regions ? Any Logic Pro X users here with any ideas why ? How do I record.

I’ve tried just selecting a instrument track and recording that works great.

Also tried IDAM from iPad to record with no problems just if I go into midi environment I’m stumped ?
