Ipad as Sampler within Hardware setup

Looking to intergrade a sampler into a small hardware set up. Tried korg electribe, elektron digitakt, neither hit the spot. Seems the Ipad may do the best job. For my use one app at a time would suffice, Space craft for example.
Anyone doing this care to share advice/experience?
