Ape matrix send/receive on midi channel

I have an audio track in AEM that I would like to send midi data to in order to modulate Virtual Room but I have no way of addressing the audio track with midi

Could I use the send/receive auv3 bundled with Ape Matrix to send audio from an audio track to a midi track in AEM? Will the send/receive auv3 load on a midi track? If so would it load as an effect or as a primary source?
