It's not unusual that brand items supposed to sell in (relatively) low quantities go high price.

The Synclavier Knob is not a simple endless dial, but has a specific response to user action.
You can see it quite well in YT videos of the original instrument.
The touch implementation of that element isn't the greatest and spoils some of the fun tweaking patches. Valid in a mobile solution, but not optimal for studio use.
So IF this thing does indeed perform as advertized, it would be a great addition.
But since the app probably didn't sell as expected, the price of the Knob remained high.
