Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

  • Seems like there are so many apps like this one. Also seems like a lot of people really like it. What is it that makes this app stand out?

  • Simplicity, one page UI, cheap, and it just works.

  • Mmmm, already got Chordion. Tried polychord and wasn't impressed so will probably stick with what I've got. Cheers for the link tho.

With this Chordy app you have to touch the chord name with one finger and use another finger to play the chord. How could you ever play several chords in rhythm with this two finger playing style? Am I missing something? You need to be able to touch a chord with one finger and it plays immediately when you touch it. You take one finger and touch a chord and it plays immediately, you lift your finger and you touch another chord and it plays immediately etc. That's how all other similar apps play chords. ChordPolyPad app is an example of what I mean.

  • You don't need to keep the chord pressed....just a single press to switch chords.
