Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Spectral Eye, Spectral Eye Pro updating to 1.3
Spectral Eye is free, and can sit in the Audiobus input slot. SE Pro is a buck, and can sit in any slot. The app is essentially a spectrum analyzer with a unique way of displaying the info (the spectrum peaks are wrapped in a spiral, so that octaves are lined out as rays from the center). I built it while working on MIDImorphosis, as a way to see what was going on with different guitar tones, and it's turned into an app that people seem to have fun with.
Both apps have a ridiculously simple synth engine. The pro version is also a MIDI controller -- so you can play an Audiobus synth, and see what it's doing sonically, or you can whistle or hum, see the pitch, and then trigger the pitch using the controller interface.
Anyway, version 1.3 should be on it's way to the Apple servers, and will update in a bit. Give me a shout if you've got questions, or run into bugs.
