Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

SO will this work receiving midi clock from a DAW and accurately sync IOS to the incoming clock?

What about MTC midi time code? would it recognize this?

  • Doubt it....It is a clock 'smoother'.... Usual problem is that if your MIDI Clock source is jittery and then you have an app that has a dubious Clock implementation then the problem becomes worse...this will smooth out the jitter from the Original Clock, but will not make the dubious app behave any different.

If this will be useful or not will depend on how jittery your MIDI Clock Source(s) are....most if not all suffer from jitter to some degree.

  • It won't help much without an offset slider to eliminate master/slave offsets - but knowing Audeonic, I bet it's coming soon :)
