Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Only AU missing: audio looper
With Drambo around the corner with elektron style p-lock and piano roll AU announced from Audioveek, not to mention Photon that just dropped, the only thing I could wish for is an audio looper in AU format.
Perhaps Loopy HD AU?!
Comments
It is quite surprising since audio loopers were among the first music apps that appeared on early iOS.
We also need a decent guitar multieffect/amp/cab simulator.
There already is Kosmonaut. See this video: https://youtu.be/DIgpCe3ZChQ
Yes, you can use a spoon to cut bread, but why?
perhaps the new Audio Damage ENSO will fit the bill:
"A looper plugin with decoupled play and record heads, for desktop and iOS."
said it's so close he can taste it on his twitter...
Loopy should be integrated to aum and be an iap! AU would be nice also. I would be more interested in sampler AU than audio looper tho. Something like remixlive as an au would be perfect
As long as the spoon has such a sharp cutting edge: why not?
ENSO ! First video I’ve seen.

Loopy an IAP inside AUM...mmmm, sounds pretty unlikely unless you know something I don’t.
GTL is working on AUv3 update but not sure about when...
Now that is cool. Hope it happens soon.
GTL being an AU Plugin? Not only allowing some Au plugins to run in it? That would be cool...
It’s come up already but seriously hang tight for Audio Damage Enso. I’ve seen it in action on Chris Randall’s Instagram and it’s going to be good.
Basically the Ableton Live looper (very good) with some nice-to-haves and some highly advanced features — recording at one speed and playing back at another is a big deal. I’m pretty sure that the name is even a nod to the Red Panda Tensor, which is an experimental giant.
Sadly i dont know anything about such a thing xD Just had this idea when i was thinking about how aum could develop into something bigger than what it is now. Midi sequencer and pads would be nice option to have instead of the keyboard. Integrated sampler and sample pads would be nice as well.
Not to spook anyone out, but I'm working on a proper AU sampler, which of course does allow for looping. I'll share more details about it in a few months :)
It is infinitely more likely that loopy will get baked into audiobus albeit when I've suggested that in the past @Michael said he'd rather complete his Loopy 3 adventure.
I'd be happy with either really.
Been waiting and waiting for this, still baffled why it doesnt exisit. A simple dedicated au audio looper. Sure you can use something like the RE-1 looper option, but i just vision the ease and functionality of an app that soley loops.
Huge hole here....
Dev’s if if you build it, they will come 🙏🏼
Im spooked n it feels good. U got my support👍🏼
One reason it might not exist is that Loopy is such a solid app and is so feature rich. It integrates amazingly well via AB3 with AUM that it will not be trivial to re-create. People really underestimate the difficulty and time involved in creating such a solid piece of work -- and overestimate the money to be earned by such a venture.
The Loopy/AB3/AUM combo is an amazing system. Loopy is deep.
I have to concur here. Especially this bit, “The Loopy/AB3/AUM combo is an amazing system. Loopy is deep.”
(For some reason, I can only quote the first paragraph).
O_o Ohhhh my...
You do realize that you would be going up against AudioLayer, with full disk streaming, multisample support, round robins, etc..... If you covered those bases AND made it support SFZ, you'd have a guaranteed winner. :-)
I actually don’t have that one, nor am I all that interested.
I am waiting for other alternatives. This new one from @blueveek definitely sounds interesting.
It's gonna take a while more to make my AU sampler happen, but I'm fairly confident it's going to come. Please don't postpone purchasing/downloading other alternatives if they'll work for you :)
