Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Clip launching: triggers all the notes inside a piano roll sequence with a delay, quantised to the next beat or some other time in the future. First version will allow this to work with a companion AU. A future implementation will showcase fully fledged tracks+scenes.
I'll make sure we have some videos for launch demonstrating how all of this works. Just think Ableton, or BM3 scenes.
Yeah I'm hoping for clip launching without the delay (launch immediately).
Yeah options....I like the way circuit does it...hit the pad it changes quantised to the beat...hold shift and hit the pad it switches immediately :)
Sure thing, launch clip with quantise disabled, already taken care of! :D
Wow, it looks fantastic 😍
Loop record!??? Sign me up!!!
Just an idea re: Mod/Sustain... If your midi controller allow you to change individual control channels, here's an idea that I do...
Set CC for performance controls to something like CH16... Put something like Rozetta Scaler on a channel and have it's input be your keyboard (obviously in addition to your normal routing). Then for "real time" control, you set the midi channel in AUM as a source to JUST 16.
Then real-time goes through one path, recorded goes through another. I don't use NS, but I'd imagine that some version of the above idea should allow you to do what you need. Or maybe those new miditools have a way to do a parallel routing?
Yee haw, that's great! Thx
Thank you! Looking forward to use this awesome plugin soon!
I’d love to use Xequence pianoroll as AU too!!!! Please don’t change priorities and go ahead, as already mentioned Xequence is THE REFERENCE for MIDI editing capabilities in IOS. There are many cases of apparent app overlaps (AUM/Audiobus, Loopy/Quantiloop/GroupTheLoop, etc, etc) but every dev will give it its own flavour and at the end of the day we use them all. ;-)
Thanks for the suggestion, but I’m a little confused. Are you talking about NS2? Or about this AudioVeek Piano roll?
If you mean NS2 then I’m afaid it won’t work. The AU is loaded inside NS2 and there is no way of sending it any CC except from NS2 itself. As NS2 has no CC pass-through and CC64/CC1 are not mapeable (they are literally blocked) it won’t be possible until the dev fixes the MiDI implementation.
+1, well said Rodolfo 👍
Thanks a lot :)
Nice
Great news :)
I think you may have answered this but...will the piano roll ever be Multi-track?
single track on release and maybe as an upgrade later?
..or is that being saved for the clip launcher? :)
Looks like 2019 is the year the modular Daw finally comes of age :)
Probability, Conditional Triggers?
Congrats for catching the zeitgeist once again @blueveek .
If this is half as good as your MIDI tools I'll be delighted to give you my money again.
...just make sure you price this one correctly!!
(P.s. I'm looking forward to beta testing)
Uhm.
MIDI tools for iOS? Cannot find this in the App Store ... Link?
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/30896/audioveek-midi-tools-au/p1
Many thanks, RajahP!
@blueveek Don't want to nitpick, but registering here as "blueveek" and having a topic with "AudioVeek" which both give exactly zero results from searches in the App Store, is a "bit" contraproductive!
I still had no idea what to look for, if not in the quoted topic a screenshot was shown that finally offers the string "Victor Porof" which in the end gave the right results!
Who has time for such games?
Realy.
And for those who still are searching helplessly in the App Store, finally the right link:
MIDI Tools by Victor Porof
Has nothing to do with any "veek", just with "Victor Porof".
And just got those MIDI Tools ;-)
These apps are not supposed to be easy to find @tja
It’s supposed to be a challenge. That way you only discover them precisely at the moment you are ready to unleash their power.
Wisdom requires effort, right? ;)
Cannot find a quote button anymore :-o
@tk32 You're right, of course 🙃
Thanks! I'll add some gifs/videos about loop recording workflows in this thread after a first round of testing.
This whole thread is about me figuring out what exactly gets people excited in order to prioritise the features for the initial launch. Everything that's "meh" will be polished and enabled in an update.
So thanks everyone for all the feedback :)
I'm not 100% following you here, and would love to understand more. What are the "individual control channels" you're referring to? Do you mean "individual control change" messages, on individual channels?
Need some quick transform tools. Those in Xynthesizer are cool with both horizontal and vertical flipping, and ease of moving the entirety of a sequence left or right. Useful DIY fuges.
Already done and are coming to the initial release! Glad to see so many people requesting this feature.
@blueveek
Great idea for a missing app! Would it be possible to have a percussion mode, whereby double taps on drumpads (fast consecutive taps on the sale drumpad) can be recorded, or in other, more technical, words whereby note on messages would also be recorded regardless of the note off messages.
Otherwise a typical problem is that double drumpads taps are recorded as single notes, making the sequencer useless for fingerdrumming etc.
Huzzah
You'll be able to freely configure quantise options, and turn them off as well. When quantise is off, rapid taps on drum pads should be recorded properly, regardless of how rapid they are. You'll also be able to use my other plugin, "MIDI Tools", to avoid ghosted or accidentally-duplicated notes.
Does this sound sufficiently close to what you're looking for?
hm, those blue notes with velocity as horizontal line reminds me something :-)
(don't take me wrong, just my first feeling when i saw it, if i would work on pianoroll, i would try to be visually a bit different from other top-class players in that segment ;))
