Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • Can you export the Sample file created within the app and the beat file imported separately?

  • Can anybody confirm if this works with BT headphones. Especially noise-cancelling headphones ( as they have a mic). Cheers.

It only exports the sample file.

  • Bought it! Loving the simplicity of the UI. Well done dev.

  • Anyone able to record into it via AUM?

It works in the AUM FX slot, and records the input.

Has the update increased the sample time? It looked pretty short before.

It is Loop based, so tied to your base tempo.
The max is 4 bars/16 Beats.
I imagine slowing your tempo to half (or other factor of 2) of your intended/working tempo would double the loop length without the need for timestretch on the recorded loop.

    Edit...
Oh, just checked. Minimum BPM in LoopField is 60. Not gonna get much extra time with that minimum tempo.

Check my edited post. Some limitations to what I previously stated.

Ah ok. Should be a fair improvement with the update though, as that was only 1 bar - so presumably 4 times longer now.

I’ve been using it with AirPods no problem. Well, maybe one problem: it always uses the phone’s microphone, whereas with wired headphones it will use the inline mic. So if you’re outside with the phone in your pocket, it doesn’t work super well with AirPods.

    Thanks for the info.

So with my wireless, noise-cancelling headphones that have a mic ( for the n-c) within the headset, the app will use the phone mic?

This is probably my desired outcome. I would just hope that audio plays via the headphones not the phone. I've noticed certain apps forcing audio to the phone when using them, like Borderlands Granular.
