Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • Yep, it's great now, realy.

  • My favourite Co5 app. Huge update. Lost the cool animation wiggle when changing key though. Small thing compared to what we gained. :)

woah, just got this and so far I love it. It may be what I've hoped to find for a long long time (to take the place of Chord Pads in Cubase). So far, I really like the workflow. Feels super flowy!

  • This is the best 'theory' app out there

  • Perfect, just bought it. Thank you so much!

  • Does it output midi to listen the progression in real time on another instrument?

No, but I’m really hoping this gets added, been wanting this for ages!

o darn. I was just assuming it did as a basic thing for this kind of tool!

Ever look at Keynality? You can setup custom chords with inversions on this big grid, plus an optional scale locked KB. It outputs live Midi, and supports loading soundfonts too.
Check out Keynality Jr., the free, limited version to see how you like it.
This link is for the paid, full version, but the Jr. version is linked on this page too.

As much as I like Keynality, it is an Instrument, like ScaleBud or KB-1, but not a Chord Progression App as Ultimate Circle Of Fifths.

But yes, it would be great to see live MIDI Out on it.

o, thanks :) 2 years growing. I want to go one more. I thought it would stop by now but keeps on getting longer. I wish I could train a bird to make a nest.

  • No midi live output means I can't "play" music with it.
Bummer - will wait until it does.

    Try those:

    Piano Companion PRO

    ChordBud

Too lazy for the App Store links

It is excellent. Don’t get confused by the subscription. You can pay once, instead of paying subscription. Just look at the app info closely.

I love Piano Companion Pro a lot. I'd like fingering for chords, as it has for scales. And is universal.

There's a free version for checking their features.

There’s loads of apps that do this, ChordPolyPad and Navichord being my favourites, but a more stripped down circle of fifths interface that outputs MIDI would be great, it’s the only function that’s missing here.
