Lightweight AU app for recording short MIDI phrases and playing them back / altering them live?

Is there a very lightweight AU app where I can live-record a MIDI phrase using the AUM keyboard and have it play back? Bonus points for piano roll, extra bonus points for multiple patterns, extra extra bonus points for easily being able to alter the phrases. I suppose Infinite Looper could do this, but that's IAA, right?

    I think the Quantum dev is working on something like this. Search the forum for “photon”.

    Yep it’s coming from the dev of Quantum and I believe it will be called photon
