Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Get on the Lightbus

I'd love to get your feedback on a new RGB lighting product I have developed that works with Audiobus. It is called LightServer and has an App called LightBus which works with Audiobus

We have many ideas on how the make LightServer even better, including many more music synchronization effects and all sorts of fun apps.

Anyway, let us know what you think!

Thanks,
Glenn and the LightServer Team.

  • Hey there remixed123, looks like a really cool app. I don't think I'll be performing until sometime next year but would be curious how reliable it is. New technology always worries me and it's not worth the risk of blowing a whole show in front of a hundred or more ppl if something doesn't work right. That would be my feedback.

You might also wanna try DJ forums or other live performance forums as majority of ppl on this forum are producers (to my knowledge) and I don't play out anywhere as often as I used to when I was younger.

    Good luck

We are about to enter the beta phase for the device, so this is where we work hard to iron out all the bugs. The Lightbus app in the video is a proof of concept, and will provide significantly better effects in the released version.

The product has been designed so that average person can setup and use, so all aspects are very simple, including connecting it to a network. So for producers who are highly technical, this would be very easy to setup and use.

It was also designed to work on busy wifi networks, so it will function without an issue when other things are happening, for example someone else is watching a video or playing a game.

In a mobile situation, you can simply create an adhoc network with your phone and an ipad and you are good to go.

If you are interested, do add your details at the following webpage, as we will be looking for people for beta testing soon - http://bit.ly/1jZgpyF

Thanks for your suggestions, I will check out the DJ forums. It is not shown in the video, but by using the Audiobus microphone input, you can also use this with anything that provides an audio output.

    Glenn.

  • What hardware is needed/compatible with this?

  • Fantastic app! I would definately like to know more about this!

  • @funjunkie27 - the main hardware component is LightServer, this is a Wifi enabled device that connects to RGB lights. Compatibility is something we are investigating, feel free to email me at [email protected] is you wish to discuss this in greater detail.
