Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Zoe Keating: Live/Digital performer

Here a link to an interesting performer I came across. This vid is her at a TED talk - playing a cello live AND with live recorded parts - there is a laptop on the stage and she plays a bit - the music continues a bit - then she joins in... all VERY nice work. I think all her work is, in the end - digital as it appears she layers live-recorded-live.

  • She toured with Imogen Heap at one point

  • She uses Ableton Live and SooperLooper, plus a 10 switch midi pedal triggering (her own) custom Apple Scripts. Quite ususual, but a cool approach :+1:

You even find her tech rider online: http://www.zoekeating.com/epk/zk_tech_rider_0513.pdf

  • I figured anyone into “computer” music would know about her - just thought she had a very cool approach - and created some damn good sounding music! 🎼🎭

  • I’m pretty sure she’s the cellist who supplied the Thumbjam cello samples.

nope I had not heard about her, thanks for this post. She does very talented and evolving looping performances

Before iOS I had discovered SooperLooper on Mac and had a lot of fun with it. I wonder if she's found any of the iOS tools, Loopy HD, etc.

So this original article was from 2009. This may be off-topic from where the OP wanted this thread to go, but since that time she's had an incredible story (loss, music as therapy)
