Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

New original song, "Slackline"!

Here’s my new original song, Slackline, a mix of rock and roll and ska that used to be called “two tone”, with melodious guitars and reverb-soaken vocals. As usual, all recorded in Auria Pro (iOS) with an Apogee One, MXL 990 and 991 mics, a Marshall JTM 30, a few stomps and Brazilian cheap knock-offs of the Strat guitar and the Precision bass. For the movie, George Romero’s horror classic “Night Of The Living Dead”, movie that started that zombie apocalypse fever. Lyrics in the description. Enjoy! #ska #reggae #rock #twotone #rockandroll #youtube #originalsong #nightofthelivingdead #georgetomero #oldmovies #dimitridealencar

  • Nice performance across all the instruments. You get a nice tight rhythm section sound which is really hard to pull off with multi-tracking... at least it is for me. Do you have to do a lot of takes to get it tight? If not, you're just a good "session player". Come in, lay it down... rush to the next recoding studio appointment.

  • Keep on keeping on, @theconnactic. I wish I knew the history of the genre better but I know I am hearing a lot of influences, but the break seems entirely you. I am going to check Guiness Book of Records. You've got to be closing in! Once again your versatility speaks for great musicianship!

Thank you! As a matter of fact, I do work as a session player. The vocals, though, usually take a few takes to get right. Glad you liked!

I thought so... you put up new projects at a pretty steady clip so you're not doing dozens of takes. Just laying it down. I enjoy the vocals because you don't sound like someone I've heard before.

  • Nice sound! Very clear punch in the kick and bass line comes through well. I also liked the doubling of vocals here and there

    Many thanks! I appreciate it!

  • I really liked that, laid back ska in the verse, then a 60's flowerpower vibe in the chorus :)

  • @theconnactic , very nice. I like a bit of reggae and ska. Great mix, everything sound clear and crisp. 👍

    Thank you very much indeed!

  • Loved the doubled vocals on the bridge. Great tune, great performance. I really love these retro-styled tunes but that are recorded so well. Thanks for posting.

  • Your production seems to go from strength to strength, the songwriting too :)
