Cubasis, recording audio thru ab

I can't figure out how to record something like patterning into cubasis on time thru ab or aum.
It clearly won't sync with any external clock, so I guess you gotta just hit play right on time after the count in.... I'm failing 🤣
I don't fail with playing keys but with patterning and other apps playing a loop it's Just not working...
I love how beatmaker 3 starts recording when audio hits the threshold you've assigned....

Anyone know if cubasis will ever add that in ?
