Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

BeatMaker 3 with Geoshred Help

Does anyone have any success getting these two to work together? If so, what are your exact MIDI routing settings? If BM3 is actually receiving a signal to record and GeoShred can receive it, I get a chaotic MIDI loop which crashes everything. I’m used to simple MIDI In to MIDI Out, and that concept seems way over the developer’s heads as they convolute everything to the point where it’s not even usable on iOS. Hopefully Apple does away with IAA because it is terribly implemented among apps, and developers just point their fingers at each other over compatibility issues. Meanwhile, anything which is an AU works great.

Might be worth asking over at the Beatmaker 3 Forum? Bound to be some knowledgeable folks over there who could help. Otherwise, have you tried just recording your Geoshred(ing?) straight into BM3 as a sample (as an IAA instrument ), and taking it from there? Good luck with it! :)

  • Has anyone connected the two successfully and got. IAA audio to record in BM3?
