Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

The IceGear synths are hidden gems especially after they got the AUv3 updates.
Lorentz is still my go-to for Juno-Like sounds especially when combined with FAC Chorus :)

  • One of my favorites is Mersenne 😊

  • The interfaces always have annoyances.

  • Love IceGearn stuff.

Main wish is that they introduce Program Change functionality to them all.

  • Yeah, found that too. The little snippet sounds great. Hope for new details and stuff coming up soon!

  • Sounds very cool like all their apps

I’m not trying to support complaining, I hate complaining. But AUM.

    NanoStudio :)

  • Indeed i like the GUI is see here. I just ask me if it´s different enough from Mersenne when i hear the sound.

  • I could name three or four annoyances about both AUM and NanoStudio. But what's the point?

Instead, I'll point out that Icegear's horizontal scrolling UI is brilliant on a touchscreen. An innovation that I wish other developers would take note of.

  • Yep, the flow of sound is corresponding to the sliding UI, really clever idea.
    Like VOLT too ;)

    I name you, @JohnnyGoodyear. B)

  • @CracklePot Just verifying that you noted the use of the word "sophisticated" in my statement above.

    LOVE EM

    Lo CPU. Big sound.

    No fuss.

    Great ARP

    Unique. Well thought out

They already do! PC doesn’t work for AU in BM3 (of about 6 months ago) but it does in AUM or as stand alone.

    Really?

I couldn’t get this working as AU in AUM. Will give it another go tomorrow.

    Bank change too?

  • That looks like a good one - a nice addition to the fold.

Would be great to get more details from you on how you’re getting this to work.

I’ve tried Laplace, Lorentz, Redshrike and Mersenne and neither are responding intuitively to PC.

Say I select a Bass patch in the Factory Bank, it’s impossible to get PC to select other presets in that bank.

The only thing that does consistently happen is sending Bank 0 Preset 0, changes to the single default preset. No other patches can be selected via PC.

    • How do you get PC working in AUM for the IceGear apps?

    • Can you select different banks?

    • Are you selecting from presets you’ve created within AUM, or can you also select patches in the 3 default banks, Factory, User, Program.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

    ... post post

  • Anybody else got PC working in IceGear apps, either AUM or Standalone?

Would love to figure this out, as I’ve been hoping for this. Cheers.

  • Ok, so I reached out to the IceGear Dev...

    Good News....

IceGear apps DO have Program Change.

    Bad News....

    It's a really convoluted method.

If you want to be able to PC through any of your factory Presets then you need to go individually into the Factory Bank, save a patch, exit, enter the Program save, exit, repeat for all.

Great to have this feature, just wish it was a bit smoother in practice.

  • The new app?

Man, I’ve been a Hillage fan since the Hillfish album.
It started with Gong: Shamal, Flying Teapot... great music

One of my all-time favourite musicians. First saw him in 79, last ever Hillage band tour. Saw him with Gong (amazing), and more recently with System 7. Saw him backstage at a recent festival - he gave me a grin as I was wearing a Gong t-shirt and looked up for a chat, but I panicked and legged it.

JesusX! What a story. I never saw him, living in Norway also has some downsides...
Yeah I was a Gong fan. I was 18 in 79. I used to wear Hemp-jackets and Lhama wool accessories.
Wasn’t it a bloke called Dave Allen or something that started the flying teapot thing?
I’m just using my memory here, I’m to lazy to google :)
