Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

thanks!
Wouldn't have missed this for the world Doug. You are a very brave man. I'll save the hits for these other guys. Lol. Good video.
@thesoundtestroom no hits here. I wanted to be able to so very badly, but you're just way too brave for me to be able to poke fun at with a clear conscious. The real problem is that I watched it too early in the day to be accompanied with any spirits and as a result I'm my ability to turn on the jerk is diminished. Kudos on another great video.
Joking aside..I hope this shows what could be achieved if you can sing...tone is everything..well tone and pitch, you dont have to be an amazing vocalist....if your voice sounds nice then your off to a good start...tools like this are almost essential these days, for live they can make all the difference and in the studio if you record vocals they can save a lot of time with vocal takes......and I have no shame.....obviously :-)
Yeah, I was impressed enough to hit the little buy button after your video. Thanks again, Doug.
Ha..thanks Flo...and yeah running other stuff through it gives some wacky effects...
Was that a tea kettle going off in the video? Haha just kidding! Good job Doug, I never would've been able to do it, takes some courage
Thanks Doug! Great video! :-) I'm curious as to how this compares with the auto tuning capabilities in IK Multimedia's VocaLive. I have the maxed out version of VocaLive, and I'd like to know if I'm getting anything more if I get this app, or if what I have is sufficient. Thanks! :-)
Thanks for the video.
Sometimes your voice sounds like Ian Anderson in early '70.
I havn't used vocal live..I wonder why....and OMG Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull are amazing..I don't think Mr Anderson would agree with you though :-)...out of interest though he is a Scottish Laird now and has one of the top Salmon farms there...nice chap...all Tull albins have been recorded at his home for years and he never ever has anyone there when he records his vocals...
Thanks for a great video.
Do you have an impression of how this compares to ReTune, which used to be part of Auria?
Now I have the Oak Tree Blah Blah song stuck in my head. The good news is that I don't seem to find your voice at all offensive. The American Idol sorts of singers are the ones who I can't stand.
Thanks...just out of interest..here is the proper version of the...Oak Tree Blah Blah Song...brilliant..Jo does a much better job of it than me...
.
My voice isn't any better, and I don't even have that cool Scouser accent, still bought the app...
Hey @Audiojunkie, stick with VocalLive. Have them both and honestly the autotune functionality is very similar. This may be a touch better in regards to the smoother settings, but when you throw in all those other awesome effects (I'm talking about you, choir) in VocalLive, it's not much competition. Then again, it's 4.99 and will definitely have a lighter footprint in the effects slot, so...I'm happy with my purchase.
I really enjoyed your video, Doug! Thank you for sticking your neck out to demonstrate this, you're a true App-Professional! Just so you know, I invited some dudes over for Ribs & Booze with me promising a debut of the perfect karaoke app. Then we cranked you up (IPad hooked into my stereo - medium loud) and played it raising our bottles in a toast to your awesome display of guts! We downloaded the app and tried it with the Star Spangled Banned and Stairway to Heaven, amongst others. Yours was better, believe me! I think you gained some new fans at the Soundtestroom tonight. Really thanks I think you are great.
Thanks @boone51! That's exactly what I needed to know! :-)
Just to say Doug, I've bought many apps after listening/watching your soundtest room vids ;-) but, I don't think even auto tune efx could work any magic on my dulcet tones so I won't be buying this one. ....respect for putting this one out there ;-)
@enc I feel the same..I know I can't sing..but this is one of those apps that has to be reviewed..so I bit the bullet..lol..but yeah..know your limits,..you know it's like when you watch X Factor type shows and the people who sound truly awful but seem to have an absolute genuine belief they can sing, and you think to yourself..or in my case scream at the TV...did none of your friends tell you...
Above and beyond the call of duty...much appreciated Doug!
Lol...Doug!! You've got some cajones... nice demo. I might actually try this app. And I bought it...lol. You crack me up
Thanks Doug.. I've lost count from the number I've times I've clicked the buy button after watching one of your videos (+1 right now)
I'm curious on Doug (or anybody's) opinion on this app regarding latency? It's always been a problem for other vocal apps: Vocalive, Improvox, Harmony Voice, etc. If this app had better latency, it would be worth it.
It seemed OK when I made the video...but I was fooling around, I'm no singer...I know its hard to tell :-) and it was done in an iPad 4.....I know the dev is aware of this and I think she is trying to put it right...
