Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • Awesome......now all I need is a Launchkey :|

  • Thank you @jakoB_haQ

I believe that I'm paying you a compliment when I say your videos either make me want to open whatever software you're enthusiastic about in the moment — or they make me want to go buy something. (Can I justify a Launchkey if I've already got a NanoStudio?? Probably not.)

Related: Any word about synched scene-launching?

I hate to tell you this, but I had a NanoStudio and then accidentally bought a Launchkey and I'm very pleased to have both.

    Sorry.

I have already given you the cost code and routing number to my account. Why haven't you purchased this already?
(And yes, I'm overdue with a report about the new Digitakt. I will say it is the greatest thing ever, though my understanding is pitiful. But let me say this about how it feels. Do you remember the IBM Selectric typewriters? That solid CLICK of the keys that felt somehow to be an extension of your thoughts? The Digitakt feels that good.)

OK, off to Guitar Center for an extended lunch to browse Launchkeys....

It’s a good controller for the price, but the keys on my Launchkey are shite. Very flimsy compared to my Korg and old Edirol.

  • The scale mode on the pads works just like circuit, but you also have keys available too....this is going to be like a whole new app when used with launchkey.

  • I have a LaunchKey mini....and a Launch Control XL. I am at work right now... Can anyone verify if the XL faders work for volume and the Key works as in video, while both are plugged in to same ipad? I'm curious...and anxious for home....

I believe it is launchkey only.

    Launchkey 10.0 app

  • But will there be midi channels?

  • edited March 2018

Launchkey Mini works great with it as well fwiw! You just miss the Play, Stop, Record buttons and dynamic Keypad colors.

  • Ableton via Novation for iOS is gradually evolving into it as we speak...........

    Blocs Launchpad. Groovebox

    UNIFICATION 2019!

I loved that damned IBM. Had spent years building muscle on a 1922 Underwood (which I miss), but when I got the electric I felt sure that technology has reached its inevitable peak. Sigh.

  • Would of love midi learn instead, but a solid update to support their hardware.

Why not just use Genome or Modstep and record your midi(knob) movements?

If you have a list of CC#s for Groovebox parameters, then I’d love to do this! ?

Well if it is the same config as the old Launchkey app than I will when it comes out.

I don't see how they are going to use anything but MIDI CC?

Although the LaunchPad is a unique case for that.

Ironically I am a beta tester but have not tried this feature.

I guess you need to be a celebrity on Youtube.

    (kidding)

Jakob is actually a porn star but no on here knows it.

He goes by the name "Dirty Fingers Electro Lover"

  • Probably vendor id number involved in activate input/output messaging (aka habdshake) so it’s not going to work so easily...

In the other hand even resolving glitching audio (last updates seems pointed to that) I don’t trust their apps for live usage so I have my launchkey reserved for a friend who wants it for Live.

I will keep using Blocs but just a sketchpad for Bm3.

Nope, I haven't heard anything about that. But i. Hoping for it! :)

No, connection is still made in the same automatik way as before tjis update.

I would Love to see midi learn too. Hoping they add it in the future!

  • Is the launchkey app no more? I can’t seem to find it..

  • While they’re spending time and effort in this, Blocs Wave is receiving no love. :'(

To me it appears there is some sync in the switching.....it appears to be synced to a beat...
If I try and switch in realtime at the end of a scene it doesn't switch until the second beat in the bar.....I am adjusting to this and switching on the last beat of the bar....which seems to be working for me...
It is of course perfectly possible this is just my perception

  • Anyone having luck with using the Launch Control with Groovebox? I’ve got one hooked up to my iPad, have tried the different factory presets , but to no avail... incidentally, I’m not having luck with Launchpad app either.

NanoStudio is working well with Groovebox (and the Launchkey app as well...)

WTF Novation makes all this stuff, hardware plus the apps..

LaunchControl should work fine with the Launchpad app, afaik it doesn't work with groovebox.
As I mentioned it the other thread....I have Launchkey, Launchpad and LaunchControl XL all connected to iPad, Launchkey controlling Groovebox, Launchpad and LaunchControl both controlling Launchpad, and all simultaneously.

Nice. So you had to go with the in app purchases to unlock this functionality? This allows MIDI mapping and that’s how you’re using the LC?
