Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Using the Apple Lightning to SD Card reader to transfer audio files?
Is it possible to use the Apple branded SD card reader to transfer audio files to the iPad? I record audio with my Zoom H4n and would like to be able to transfer the WAV files from the SD card to my iPad without using a laptop.
Anyone tried this? @gmslayton I know you use an H4n - ever tried this?

It's a no-go unless the device is Jailbroken
Who knows, maybe iOS12 will bring proper mass-storage support to iOS or something...
@dvlmusic As far as I know, nope. I even reached out to Zoom but no luck. The only thing I can think of is one of those wifi card readers.

I havent tried one yet. Maybe I will, once I get enough in my patreon account. Would be handy, especially now with the documents app. The only issue is, most of those type devices have their own apps, and its hit or miss whether they work.
You can still only access photos, correct?
But there is stuff like this that may work for you...?

I just copied a wav file from my PC to my iPad using one of these https://www.amazon.com/64GB-RAVPower-Lightning-Connector-Expansion/dp/B071FJ3HGC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1517256663&sr=8-6&keywords=iplugmate+for+iphone
No issues at all. Copied it strait into AudioShare.
Played it in AudioShare to make sure it worked.
I can use my PC to transfer the files, but I was hoping to find a simple, iOS only solution. Bummer.... I'll have to keep looking. Thanks for the help, all!

In that thread @Samu said:
"The Lexar things works with all file types using the provided file-manager.
Sandisk has a similar product and it handles all file-types as well."
My understanding is you can get an SD card reader that has an iOS companion app that gives you 'open in...' for sending to apps like Audioshare etc.
I will be doing a demo soon of a Geekgo lightning Card reader that according to them can "handle" audio files. We shall see, once I receive it.
That's the way it works...
What bugs me is that there is nothing 'special' about the other card-readers. It's just an 'identifier' to launch the 'companion app'. Apple cloud do this with their own 'stuff' and just open the Files.app when a device is attached but hey that would make things too easy for consumers.
For every single iOS generation since iOS8 I've written a feature request to Apple giving us mass-storage support just like the Jailbreaks have always done using Apples very own hardware without any kind of extra hacks...
Nearly all of them end up not working after a generation or so of iOS updates though.
There's a product called iMazing which is making filetransfers easy: https://softwarehow.com/imazing-review/ and/or https://imazing.com
But to be honest I didn't need it so I don't use it up to now.
@dvlmusic
Works great for me so far. Got it this morning.
