Agree with your appraisal, Doug.
But this is the first FF app I’ve been disappointed with. NOT because there is anything wrong with it, but because the ways I’ve been trying to integrate it (same ways that work well for us with all other FF apps) isn’t getting the desired result. Or rather, how we thought it would sound. Based on what other reverbs can do to a mix.
I think that Pro-R is a more specialised, subtle app, than any of the others, and eventually we will get the hang of where and when this can be used to best effect. It excelles with individual instruments, as opposed to, let’s say, a .wav from Blocs Wave containing several instruments.
So really, it’s about using this as FF intended. Not necessarily the same thing as how people - especially us dabblers - might want/ try to use it.
