Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

  • Nice work Afx. Especially like the first.

  • Really enjoyed these, especially the last one. Thanks for sharing! All the best <3

  • Nice work on these @AfxTwn.

  • I know it's not easy to get a real Hang, but I wish one day you can. It's different from the app, quite very much different.

  • I think a Hang shouldn't be looped. It should be played live. Repetitive patterns are ok when each 'loop' is slightly different.

  • Nice tracks here! Though, shall i say that app itself is pretty weak reflection of Hang?
    Watch 2nd half of this:

  • Wow! Great performance.

  • that's what I was trying to say. What a marvelous example of Hang playing!

But I must add, I've witnessed many great performances, and what Liron Man does here is exceptional. Thank you Qmishery for this tip. Liron Man, a name to remember.

On the other hand, this should us not discourage to use the iPad for making music. Of course an iPad or any other artificial sound generator can never get close to the sound acoustic instruments are able to create, especially in the hands of truly gifted musicians. It is a tool to learn about music, and in this example even teaches us what is possible.

The intro with the Tibetan-Bowl-like sound is entirely new to me. A big revelation.

  • A previously made hanging noodle...

  • Wow, indeed! I must admit to never having heard of a hang until I came across the instrument in Thumbjam, let alone the intricacies and tonal variations possible! Thanks for sharing, Qmishery. :)
