Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • The description sounds like it was translated from Russian to English, then to technobabble and back to English. Maybe lifted from a Star Trek episode ("Captain, we're encountering co-introduced non-linearities"). The blank picture inspires confidence, as well. Who knows? I'm not taking the plunge.

  • It colors your frats in amazing colors ( at warp-speed )

  • Farts , I mean :-P .

I'm guessing it takes the audio and transforms it into that binaural 3D effect (I think headphones is a must to hear the effect tho). But I'm just guessing, that description isn't exactly crystal clear on what it does

Edit: Oh Nevermind the above, it fertilizes yer audio

  • I'm guessing it takes a reasonable fantasy cartoon series and turns it into a dreadful live action movie...

  • Im not sure what it is ,but I wouldn't want to be in the same room with you if you did one.

  • Guys...it's obvious from the screenshot in iTunes...it's a black hole to suck in your money! ;-)

  • Yes... with such a screenshot and description it looks like a fake app!

  • It looks like the guy is a legitimate programmer that is running into communication problems because English is not his native language. It seems to me that the application he has been developing has more scientific or niche uses, rather than something we'd be interested in...

  • Someone take the plunge just to see! We're all curious and its interesting that he took the time to implement Audiobus and in the effects slot no less.

  • Ok. So I tried running the words of the description through definitions to maybe clear it up. I don't know if this is close, but it sounds better to me.

Study of area and motion, in particular relating to applying force to increase naturally produced longitudinal wave within gassy media by a double slit source and co-introduced non-linearities.

Now here's where it could be potentially interesting. I looked up double slit (first time ever I swear! Lol) Anyway, what I found is there is a thing called the Double Slit Experiment which has to deal with Quantum Mechanics. Pretty interesting if this is what it is. I copied this from the Wikipedia page:

"The double-slit experiment, sometimes called Young's experiment (after Young's interference experiment), is a demonstration that matter and energy can display characteristics of both waves and particles, and demonstrates the fundamentally probabilistic nature of quantum mechanical phenomena."

In regards to non-linearities I found this definition on freedictionary: "A system whose performance cannot be described by equations of the first degree
system, scheme - a group of independent but interrelated elements comprising a unified whole."

So in other words, this could be very interesting. Or it could just be a fart app. I'm hoping for the first conclusion.

  • I did not understand one single word of that....SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM! :(

  • Has the potential to be totally fake or totally awesome! Lol

  • Haha yeah, now I'm totally nerding out on learning more about the Double Slit Experiment. There's some videos on YouTube that are helpful. What I'm getting is that there was an experiment where scientists were firing electrons randomly at a screen that had one slit in it. There was a second wall where the electron would hit. When they did this the electrons made a vertical pattern like the slit from the first screen. They added a second slit in the first screen (making it look like a rotated equal sign) and fired electrons randomly to see what pattern would emerge on the second wall. They expected that the pattern would match the double slit, but what actually happened was it created multiple vertical stripes all the way along the second wall. They couldn't figure it out, because they were throwing matter at the screen but the developing pattern produced a pattern that only waves produce. Essentially, matter was taking on the property of waves. They discovered that the electrons would split (if I understand this correctly) right before the first screen and meet up on the other side, causing an interference in the pattern. It gets into some pretty fascinating ideas.

  • Based on the phrase "gassy media", I'm predicting fart app.

By this i do manifest, "crossfeed" which is in fact precise mathematic model of sound waves aggregation, based on discoveries gathered thru decade long research. So, implementation you able to experience, has no rival in producing binaural field out of stereo source.

  • There is no any artificial helpers, everyother around has to minimize fairly evident comb effect that always there due improper approach. I started same way too twelve years ago with "Speakers Simulator" project.

  • About ten past eleven...

  • Another module "Rapidity Maintainer" fights excessive transducer mass which is improperly controlled by voltage, resulting reactive character of oscillating system. Naturally, every harmonically oscillating wave has every the same amount of energy in respect of time. So, well designed system draws energy very smoothly, making excessive capacities obsolete. Once you set right the mass ratio, you can force volume all the way thru without any distorsions audible, with a driest bass outhere!

  • So from what I understand, copah, you're saying that other apps that are similar to yours make compromises because of improper research, and your app takes super precise mathematical equations into account in order to render sound waves more exact, pure, and efficient etc. I think that's what you're saying. Maybe.

I still don't know what your app actually is though. Most of what you're saying seems to be about the science behind the app rather than what the app actually is and what it's used for. I'm assuming it's some kind of synthesizer at least.

  • In Russia, app plays you!
