Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

  • Thank you for all the suggestions. After googling you suggestions I decided to buy Geoshred. What an amazing app. Thanks

  • Keyboard or guitar?

Distortion is surprisingly convincing for transforming other instruments into electric guitar sounds. There's a shifting between the harmonics that come to the forefront, like the fifth and an octave up. Using a mod envelope to pan between oscillators, where one is a higher harmonic of the other can lend some guitarist qualities especially if the harmonic balance differs from note to note. There's also kind of an unpredictable, atonal blast of noise at the attack of a distorted guitar, some kind of modulation to get some grit to the attack is helpful, like FM.

  • I reckon Redshrike could do a wicked guitar lead tone with a bit of programming skill.

  • I've never considered Geoshred before, but I just saw a couple demo vids on YT and am fully convinced I need this app, ESPECIALLY for some upcoming tracks I have in mind. Cheers. :)
