Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Gadget for Mac 'extras'?

Does anyone know what's the case with the iOS instrument 'internal' IAPs on the mac version (and VST's)? Do you get all the M1 / Arp Odyssey extra (iOS paid for) presets and all the piano IAPs in Module by default? thanks.

  • Probably not, someone reported that Ivory Grand was missing from the Mac version.

My guess is that you get all the iM1 and iOdyssey cards, but not all the Module IAPs.

  • Not 100% but I am sure I remember reading that they said not all IAP will be available for Mac initially but that it would be coming !

  • any buyers of gadget mac care to shed any light on this? @acidalex @Matt_Fletcher_2000 @DaveMagoo
so little info, where's the in depth reviews out there?!

  • From looking at Korg's site I assumed all IAP are included except Module's Ivory Mobile Grand. But would like to hear form Gadget Mac owners myself.

  • I'm curious about this as well.

I'm still also waiting to find out if Bluetooth headphones work with Gadget for the Mac. I guess that would be considered in "extra" because they don't work with the IOS version.

Yes this is correct. You get all IAP's included except the Ivory Piano.

I do not know about headphones but I just selected my iLoud Bluetooth speaker from Gadgets audio output and it worked. Terrible latency though as expected for Bluetooth audio.

I can confirm this too and also milpitas is not in the bundle until the next update

Well I suppose if that worked so would any Bluetooth headphones or earphones. Thanks so much for answering this.

  • I posted this in another thread but Korg tweeted that a Mac Specialist will be answering questions about Gadget for the Mac live tomorrow at 2 PM.

Maybe this will answer the IAP questions, among many other things.

  • Is this a normal thing? Or is this damage control?

  • It does feel like 'damage control'...

    • Make all 'Gadget Effects' available as IFX
    • Allow usage of 'Gadget Tracks' as inputs for the 'Audio Gadgets'.
    • Enable export of 'selected scenes' (for now it's all or nothing).
    • Read the Gadget-Request at Korg Support Forums and take them seriously...

That's what I would tell them, don't know what that 2PM will be here in Sweden.

    Solid list right there.

    • Velocity keys (like Madrid) on all gadgets. But I guess you covered that with point 4 ;)

The Q&A was an absolute disgrace i could not even get a response from them and the questions they answered can be found by googling!!!

They have even deleted the main thread where i asked the same question multiple times where they said they were ready ask away and just left the replys in their main tweets & replies column, shameful.

Q&A was an absolute shambles, did not answer one question or even respond and even deleted the main question thread which had all my unanswered questions on

  • All answers they provided you can google yourself

  • Absolute waste an hour of my life i will never get back

  • The images are from the deleted thread with the unanswered & not responded to questions

  • Is it just me or does Twitter really SUCK for Q&A type threads???
(I do have a Twitter account but it's a big pile of crap most of the time so I stay away from it).

    Sound advice

Yeah Twitter was a really poor choice for this. Plus there wasn't really much said that they just could have put in a FAQ. The main thing that stuck out to me were they thought the price they were charging is a bargain and there will be no crossgrade pricing for iOS users. They consider Gadget for the Mac a separate product.

I'm still probably going to get it anyways because it would be a good fit for me on my Mac (and I have a good chance of winning a bunch of money in a NCAA pool).

We'll probably get alot more information than what Korg provided today from MusicAppBlog's review when he posts it.

  • They didn't bring answers, but they did bring cat videos

I have it and can try to answer any questions based on my playing with it so far - although I have limited time to go and check things out specifically.

I also just use it standalone and have nothing else to host VSTs in etc.

Basically the standalone version seems VERY VERY similar to what it is on iOS.
