Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Powered Usb Hubs and cck
Hi,
I need new powered usb hub? Any recomendations? I will love to know the best options for 4 ports or so since ai have another with 7 ports which never gets fully connected (and less if I buy a second one and put some of the actual into the new setup with the iPhone...)
Thanks!

I use belkin and they work great....do not be tempted by the cheap chinese ones, the power supplies blow....
Also get USB 2 and not USB 3 if you are using things like Circuit connected via USB, if you use a USB3 hub you will get a high frequency noise from the circuit.
I use Plugable. I find them great.

@AndyPlankton thanks for the advice, I will take it in mind.
@hellquist Do you know/tried any model with less ports? 7 is too much (like the trust model I use nowadays)
Nope, sorry. Have only used the 7-port ones. Was basically looking for hubs with the best power. I don't use all 7 ports on any of my hubs though. You don't have to fill them.
Yeah but it makes them bigger too. Mine is far from confortable.
There should be someone (usb2, powered...) with less than 5 ports... but I need iOS users advices (thanks once again) since "tested" is a must. Cheap ones are terrible, I agree.
@AndyPlankton just fyi, did you try to use an isolated usb port ? I mean , not connected to the next usb port available ?
I did that for my Novation mini launchpad who was making a ground noise, then, connected last, and far away from other devices, no problem...
Didn't test, but these should be fine:

But Belkin or D-Link are making good products, and I'm not sure your iPhone is usb 3 anyway...So..
I haven't tried that no, I'll give it a go, thanks for the tip
I found myself doing it sometimes due the soundcard or launchkeys made stranger things... I didn't think it could be usual!
Thanks @crony for the tip!
Does anyone do a rechargeable battery powered USB hub?
Idk but I've fund this to get something similar. Still waiting...

Ditto, USB3 versions here and never had a single issues. I have one 7 port and one 4 port, neither has ever not worked perfectly.
The one hub to rule them all

No, I meant a USB hub to use with iOS that, rather than plug into the wall, runs off a rechargeable battery instead. I have a MIDI interface and a separate audio interface. Both work with my iPad fine using CCK however when I try both together there isn't enough power. I currently have to use a USB hub plugged into the main power but that isn't very portable...
Can be done with a USB Y cable and a small portable battery:

Thanks. That's what I've been using as a workaround but it's hardly elegant.
I'm not sure (I'm a bit noob to charge peripherals) but these I've linked doesn't give power to iPad/gear?
The ripcord cable is developed to put compatibility to phone chargers to 9V gadgets like volcas/soundcards/midi interfaces also.
I've been pleased with this AuKey - 6 ports, USB 3.0, Gb Ethernet Jack, and 1 2.4 Charging Port: https://aud-ios.com/2017/04/09/review-aukey-6-port-usb-3-0-hub-with-gigabit-ethernet-2-4-charging-port/
This is what I'm looking for…
NOT a rechargeable battery pack,
NOT a "powered" hub that transmits wall-outlet power,
But a SELF--POWERED USB hub with an onboard battery for powering devices.
I saw a home brew one in an altoids tin that uses a 9-volt battery, but can't find it now.
You never heard of duct tape?
I'm really shocked this doesn't exist...
...
@Dubbylabby i'm allergic to duct tape.
I'm taped to an allergic duct

Are you using an audio interface?
My Novation Audiohub got fucking wierd and stopped working for the longest 5 minutes of my life after hooking one to it.
SIDENOTE: ANYONE HAVING ODD MIDI ISSUES IN AUM?
I’m an allergic tape duck.
