Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

This has actually been addressed and fixed in the update. In the top left of the instrument window, where the patch name is? Instead of pressing on it, simply swipe left or right. That way you can preview other patches!
Bloody hell. This has always been one of my biggest bugged bears....very happy. Truly is sweeter after difficulties, thanks so much for the nudge.
Slightly off topic, but marginally irritating to me personally and germane to the issue of one man bands he doesn't seem to have updated the kindle version to 3.2.
