Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Mersenne app >>> Bloc wave, no sound
Hey guys, happy new year!!!
I'm new to digital music creation, I've been playing a lot with the Novation apps and I bought Mersenne by Iceworks yesterday.
When trying to output into bloc wave, Bloc wave does get the sound to record, but the keyboard in the Mersenne app is totally silent. So basically I have to play it deaf and then check in bloc wave if I did it right.
am I doing it wrong? (Running on an ipad pro 12.9 with 10.1.1 as fresh updates are usually evil)
Thanks

What app are you hosting those apps in?
Down near the bottom right should be a button called Monitor. Make sure this is on. If your set up in your hosts right, the Monitor button should show, if not, something else is wrong.
Hey Fruitbat! Thanks for taking the time.
So, I launch audiobus, inside I choose mersenne as input, no filter in the middle, and Bloc waves as output. With other apps like Loopy, I can hear the sound of mersenne while having mersenne open, But with Blocwaves I can hit the keyboard and record, but the keyboard makes no audible sound. Problematic.
That bottom right monitor button, you mean inside audiobus? I only have see an app version numbern there. And nothing in the settings that says monitor.
In loopy, there IS a headphone monitor button, but not in mersenne or audiobus.
And the interapp thingy also works between mersenne and garageband, but not with blockwave, which is weird since it's been apparently build around ableton, right?
Ok. First of all I've found Mersenne does not always load properly in AudioBus first time. You need to make sure that AB shows like the image below. If not, restart your iPad and that might help.
Now make sure all the AudioBus tabs are showing when having Mersenne open and Blocs open. That shows they are working properly.
Now make sure that the monitor button is highlighted in Blocs. See pic below
Check that Mersenne has background audio button on and that you are sending your keyboard to the right midi settings in Mersenne
Hopefully this will help you find what's wrong
