Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

  • Hey to everyone!
Today we released a new version of Tonebridge, adding an updated Sound Engine. We tried to make the sound feel more real by adding some effects that happen to amps, pedals and cabinets in real life.

For example, the Power Sag effect. It happens when you turn the volume up high on a tube amp, and hit the strings really hard. This way, the amp is lack of power for some short time, and you hear a more compressed sound. It's hard to hear, especially on low- and mid-end equipment, but you can feel the difference instead of just hearing it.

What do you think of a new sound in Tonebridge? Do you feel the difference?

    Fair.

    That's what Ultimate Guitar's founder—Eugeny Naidenov—decided it to be :)

By the way, Tonebridge became bigger since 2016. We made an Android version (https://goo.gl/2JAKFS) and macOS version too (http://apple.co/2hYD86p). The iOS version (http://apple.co/2vkNz5R) got a new stunning 3D pedal look, pedalboards to quickly switch between tones, Bluetooth controller support (like AirTurn) and tens of minor tweaks and small features.

  • Tonebridge is great for instant guitar tones without fiddling. Is there a way to view a full list of the presets?

There is no direct way to get all the presets in one list, but on my personal opinion this is not very practical. There are over 11,000 presets at the moment, so looking through all of them at once is more of a waste of time. But you can still look through over 1,000 artists directly in the app—that's much easier and also gives a nice picture of the content.

Ah, OK, thanks for the reply, I think I shall have a blast and probably make a demo, I think it’s a remarkable achievement

  • It's great for instant gratification. Sometimes I don't want to be tweaking with the other options. Freebie too, we live in good times for mobile music making.

  • How do you select presets in tonebridge while using it as an au in AUM?

  • If you tap the search icon, it will show you the tones you have downloaded. You can also search for more from their database. I think only stand-alone has the tone browser store interface (the one with featured tones).> @johnfromberkeley said:

Hi, I’m digging the sound, thanks.

I’m finding it difficult to find presets in standalone as well as AUV3. In fact as far as I can tell there is no way to edit or retrive saved patches from the standalone version. I managed to get to the edit button at the bottom of the search window but cannot press it as it doesn’t stay up and disappears away as soon as I let it go. Could it be a bug?

Anyway, I hope that preset management can be improved/introduced in the AUV3 version.
