Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Adding Filters after Loopy while keeping the microphone clean

I have a microphone going in to Audiobus and am creating vocal loops.
I would like to manipulate the loops while still being able to use the microphone as if it is bypassing the processor.. is this possible?

I am very new to Audiobus, so apologies if i'm missing something obvious.

So I have,

System Audio Input -> VocalLive -> Loopy
Loopy -> WOW2 -> System Audio Output

and it's WOW2 which I'm trying to use for what I record in Loopy but I don't want the System Audio Input to be affected.

Thanks

  • Only way I can think of involves AUM and bus sends. Do you have AUM yet?

  • Thanks for the reply! I'll check it out. I guess MiMix would do the same?

I really hoped Audiobus would offer this out of the box.

  • Maybe not with MiMix... I don't think it has the required signal routing.

AUM actually has a "subgroup send" which allows vocalive's signal to go to Audiobus/Loopy and also be sent to another AUM channel direct to speaker. Just turn of live monitoring in Loopy.

And welcome to the madness! Happy music making.

  • pretty sure this is doable with multiroute audiobus.

first channel, set system mic as input and loopy as output, no fx.

now set loopy tracks as inputs, with desired fx, and system speaker as output

prolly need to turn on record monitoring in loopy

I was going to suggest that ^,
with dry vocal input yes it would work inside Audiobus.

but he wants his live vocals going thru VocaLive, so there's no way inside audiobus to route VocaLive to Loopy and to speaker out.

  • @Hmtx Thanks, I'm sure (or hopeful) it'll get less frustrating with time.

@wellingtonCres, that's what I currently do and it's not working.
