Stop synths in effects slot from responding to MIDI

Hello,

Is there a consistent way to prevent synths placed in the Effects slot from responding to MIDI notes played in the Input slot synth? For example, I was playing Thor with NLog in the Effects slot to use its Reverb effect. However, whenever I played notes on the Thor keyboard, the Nlog synth would play.

Is there a general way to prevent this from happening?
