Plugging a lightning ios device into a Mac running Yosemite will make the ios device recordable in QuickTime. I just bought a Mac mini the other night, maybe I'll finally be able to make decent looking auria videos...

Cool if one is able to update to Yosemite - and has iOS 8. I can't move from Mountain Lion because of lack of hardware support for some of my recording gear in Mavericks :-/

Yes, the Mac mini I bought is for general family computing. For recording I am still using my 2007 black macbook on lion. But I may make use of it for the drummer in GarageBand and this feature to make auria videos, which is on my to do list.

Reflector doesn't work with auria
Looks like maybe it's only with Quicktime Pro? I just tried with the Yosemite preview on my MBP, along with my iPad Air and iPhone5. There's nowhere to select the iPad as an input device, doesn't seem to work.

Seems i have no safari crashes and reloads with iOS 8 so far where iOS 7 could not handle it. I also can use far more apps in multi tasking.....

Ouch!.... So far i'm more happy with iOS 8 then with iOS 7...... iOS 6 was still the best
I'm happy that I can use swipe on my keyboard. That's the only thing I missed when I switched from Android. It seems to work pretty awesome too.
